Kindergarten Orientation 2019

Welcome to the 2020-2021 Kindergarten class at P.S.188Q/Annex! We are planning an orientation to acquaint you and your child with our school. This orientation will be for all incoming Kindergarten (gifted and talented included). Due to space constraints we are unable to have our orientation at the annex. Families are invited to make an appointment with our Parent Coordinator, Myrna Pérez-Fung, to schedule a tour of the annex. She can be reached at 929-600-5683, extension 1165, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Or you can reach her by email at mperez-fung@schools.nyc.gov. When scheduling your tour, please be advised that all tours must be scheduled. They begin at 9:00 a.m. and can be scheduled on any weekday. School tours cannot be scheduled on the weekends, holidays or during summer vacation. Due to many events taking place at the end of the school year, tours will end on June 5th and begin again in mid September. Please contact Myrna Pérez Fung, our Parent Coordinator with any questions or concerns.

At the orientation our Principal, AP, Parent Coordinator and our PTA will present information and be available to answer questions. Because the meeting will be an hour long and it may be very hot in the building, we ask that you do not bring children to this meeting.

We hope this visit will support a smooth adjustment to Kindergarten and your child will feel confident about his/her new school environment. Please respond back to this invite by Friday, June 14th.

To make registration easier and more convenient for parents, we have assembled most of the registration documents parents will have to fill out with the registration checklist below:

Please bring in all the registration documents and make sure you have called and made an appointment to register with our school secretary, Mrs. Laura Kennedy. Her number is 929-600-5683. If you have already registered your child you do not have to fill these documents out again.

As the date for orientation gets closer we will email you a link to access the orientation packets. You do not have to print up all the documents. Only print up and bring in documents that need to be filled out. We do ask that you look over the packet and write down any questions or concerns you may have.
